Located on the western side of Kauai, reaching this spot requires travel on five miles of road that is best described as “unpaved, rough and rugged.” Access to the start of the road is often blocked by the State of Hawaii, based on weather. If you are an experienced four-wheel driver in possession of a vehicle with said capabilities – the trip is fun. Otherwise… not so much.
