On this January day in the Northern Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho the high temperature will not reach 10 degrees Fahrenheit. However, the sun is shining brilliantly.
If dressed properly, an early afternoon ski on the Park Creek groomed trails cannot be topped. The Park Creek Overlook is located west of the town of Stanley in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area (SNRA) of the U.S. National Forest and National Wilderness.
The Park Creek Cross Country Skiing Trail System is a superb mix of offerings. The routes can be short and flat to long with highly variable terrain. One of my favorite routes is the combined Camas and Skyrocket loops. It affords skiing of all types in 4.5 miles.
Bald Mountain of Sun Valley, Idaho is the Icon associated with America’s First Destination Ski Resort. In this age of short life spans at the top and fading traditions – Sun Valley, in its 84th year of operation was ranked the #1 Ski Resort in North America for 2020 by SKI Magazine.
MESH Gallery at Heritage Hall currently is displaying two magnificent perspectives of the Grand Dame of Skiing – Baldy After Snowmageddeon and Baldy On A Snowy Sunday Morning. Each piece of Fine Art Photography is available as a Limited Edition Artwork is a variety of sizes.

The book represents four years of photographing in the six mountain ranges in the region. In addition, one dozen of the images in the book will be presented on canvas and framed in gallery wrap style.
“As with the first book, Capturing the Valley Too is an art piece in itself,” says MESH Art co-owner Kyle Lubeck. “The book is printed using the highest quality materials in a large format layflat hinged paper configuration. This allows for the best results in terms of viewing and longevity.” A full narrative describing each image is provided separately.
Capturing the Valley Too presents unequaled images of iconic and extraordinary places within the six mountain ranges that surround the Wood River Valley. “It is an absolute joy to share the places all of us know and love or have heard about,” says author and photographer – Jeffrey H. Lubeck. “In some cases it was a true challenge to get to these spots with such great names and imagery. However, it is so compelling to reach, and photograph places known as The Finger of Fate, Railroad Ridge, The Arrowhead and The Birthday Cake.”
